I have created a Data Set and when batch saving I can only make the files overwrite themselves and end up with only 1 PDF when I should have 19. I set up a Action to Save and then choose Batch with Source Data Sets, Destination NONE and File Name: Data Set Name. I am able to togle through each of the 19 items but I am confused as to what I could be doing wrong that the file overrides itself when saving???

when you write an action that saves a file, it saves the explicit instructions you gave for saving that file, including the file name.
to batch save files like this, you need to use a script.

No, Dilliam, you do not necessarily use a script to do it.
Bryan, can you share a sample Illustrator file?
Also, which version of Illustrator are you using?

I think there is a bug in the version of Illustrator I am using. Version is 24.1.1. I had someone else try the file in a NEWER version and it worked. Thank You Kurt for looking into this!

Hi Bryan in which version did it work? I am using version 25.4 and it is not working. How frustrating.

Update: I reverted back to version 24.3 and it is working now. This seems to be a bug, so I reported it. Please vote it up, so it can get fixed. https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/43880730-action...

Adobe illustrator-Version 29.5.1
Action batch saving with data sets does not put out multiple files
I updated to version 25.4 and had a file with multiple data sets.
I have an action that saves as a PDF or any export as for JPGs PNGs and I wanted to "batch" this
action as I have done multiple times in the past to create multiple PDFs or any JPGs and PNGs.
However, now only one file gets saved and it gets overwritten constantly
when the action repeats. The saved file name is whatever the file was
saved as when recording the action, so it is not even the data set name.
