direct selection tool selects all corners

Hi, I am new to illustrator and I am trying to use the direct selection tool to round only one corner of a square. The tool is selected, I have selected the inside dot with the A tool and I can see the small arc under it, but when I drag the point all the corners are  dragged, just if I was using the V selector tool. Thanks for your help

don't click on the center of the shape, click on the corner anchor you wish to round, then click and drag on the proxy to round only that corner.

amrnet,

Based on a (slightly but maybe significantly) different interpretation of the description, have you deselected the square before applying the A tool?

Edit: Hi Carlos. Is it hot like chiles, or chilly like here?

Hi Jacob, it's neither. It's a beautiful day 62 Fahrenheit where I am, it will reach 70 degrees at noon, great weather for a soccer match.
