drawing with pencil tool, corners do not line up

Hello, when I draw straight lines with a pencil tool, lets say like a triangle. The corners don't line up. It leaves "empty" areas and I was wondering how do I make it better.

Thank you all so much! Really really appreciate  your help!

You're far better off using the pen tool to draw straight lines—you get a lot more accuracy and control once you get the hang of it. Check out this tutorial: How to draw with the Pen, Curvature, or Pencil tool in Illustrator .
