Below I have 2 number 31 artboards, is this a glitch? I can't seem to reconcile this

@yash-lucid I don't think it is a glitch. When you duplicate an artboard, Illustrator often adds a suffix like "copy" or "copy 1," but users are free to rename both the artboard and the layers to whatever they want, including the same number or name. Instead of using the layers panel, try using the artboard panel. Look at the numbers on the far left of the Artboard names in this panel. These are the true index numbers. If you find two artboards with the custom name "31" in the Artboards panel, simply double-click the name and rename them (e.g., to "Artboard-31a" and "Artboard-31b") to avoid confusion.

No this is already showing the artboard section - not layers, and you can only rename the artboard name, but the number ID on the left side remains the same, if you double click it, it just goes to that artboard on your canvas, it's definitely a glitch of some sort

FYI I have a few duplicates in one big AI file, it is a bug, it does cause issues and mixups, it is not yet solved.
Waiting for Adobe to assist...

Hello @yash-lucid,
Our team has tried replicating this behavior, but was unable to do so. Could you share more details of your exact workflow or steps to recreate this problem, so we can investigate this further?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately it's extremely random until I know what caused it, the workflow is basically storyboarding an animation, making new artboards sometimes by pressing + on the artboards panel, sometimes by alt-dragging an existing artboard to create a new one. Most times there's no error.

edit: still not solved
