I have a tiny, almost minimised to the point of not being able to see it, empty panel that is in the centre of the screen every time I launch Illustrator. All panels that should be there are there and populated, this is an extra empty one that is just there on launch. I'm assuming that it is a result of the new customisation functions, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea of how to stop it happening?

What happens when you open a file or create a new one?

Hello there.
I have the same issue. It started a few months ago. It occurs when starting a new document and when opening an existing file.
I've had the issue oocur on three different computers (all running Windows 10 Pro) within the last couple of months of Illustrator releases.

Hi Monika,
Life got a way from me so sorry for the really slow reply. I am on a Win 10 Pro 64-bit machine, running Illustrator 23.0.1. Situation is the same as dhilsonjr, who also replied. Screenshot - 21f12e6c2a7b8c4523282030304718e6 - Gyazo I expanded the panel so I could take a pic of it, it's normally just a sliver so thin you can hardly grab it with the mouse. Has only been happening with the latest version for me.

You could try resetting the preferences.
Do you have any third party plugins installed?

I switched jobs, was ordered a new computer, and had a completely new Creative Cloud subscription and I have still have this issue so I don't think it's any third party apps or preferences.

This is an "answer" ?
What about the rest of us that have the same problem. Care to clue us in?

There is only so much troubleshooting that can be done by asking questions back and forth. Most of us here are just experienced users, helping to share our experiences of what works.
Sometimes, for more complex issues, the best thing is to call Customer Support, ask to be bumped up to a higher level of tech support to work with someone who can see what's happening inside your computer (which we can't do).

Admittedly, I was venting.
However, in an official Adobe forum, it's not helpful finding that marked as "answered". It's not answered. Did it solve the problem? We don't know. Did it solve the other person's problem? We don't know. Did the person even contact Tech Support? I can't tell...

Neither can we.
Only the thread starter, an administrator or a moderator can mark a thread solved. I am neither, so I can only assume this is solved. And actually if it is marked solved, I don't ask questions.
So please contact support for your own issue. It's your only option to find out if it helps. The proof of the pudding is the eating.

Just to let anyone know who was interested in this old thread, yes I contacted support, and as often is the case they could not help. I gave up in the end and just close the little empty panel every time I open the app - annoying, but I'm guessing it's another little "improvement" to the software. I also did NOT mark this as answered, as it wasn't. Adobe covering up no doubt... "problem, what problem... move along, nothing to see here".

Same issue here 😞
When I open the empty panel a white background appears, I click with the right button and it appears this.
After I click on the view page source a code appears in the notepad:
<!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en"><head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
