Error loading plugins illustator CC2017

Hi, a friend of mine is trying illustrator and found a plug-in we cannot manage to install.

We've tried putting it in different folders, but didn't work.

The version of illustrator we are using is the latest available (illustrator CC2017 on Windows 10).

When opening the program it says:

"Error loading plugins"

"SelectMenu.aip"

I Know this is for CS6, but I thought I could ask if it is still compaticle with CC2017 or if I did something wrong, not knowing how to install plugins.

If possible try to be simple, I can't understand very well, specially the abbreviations.

Select Menu does not work with CC and that's it.

When a plugin is labeled CS6 then it's safe to assume it will not work in any other version.

Ok.

I just don't know how the program is constructed, so we thought there was a chance that the new version could integrate an old pluggin, and since the post was old and not updated, we decided to try if it was true. Had you personally tryied it out or just assumed it didn't work?

Thanks anyway for the feed back, I guess we should just give up.

I know that CS6 plugins don't work with CC.

There are even issues between the latest minor updates with some plugins.
