Every time I save a file as a PDF it automatically opens in Adobe Acrobat. Help!

Every time I save a file as a PDF in Illustrator it automatically opens immediately afterwards in Adobe Acrobat. I can't seem to find out how to turn this off and it's driving me mad. Any help greatly appreciated.

There's a checkbox in the Save options: View PDF after saving. Turn that off.

I've been looking for this but don't see it on a Mac. I don't get any options in Save, it just saves. I do in Save As, but 'View PDF after saving' isn't one of them..

Maybe use Save as and then try again?
