Expand appearance turns 3D object into image instead of path

Hi,

So I have a text that I turned into outlines and added 3D bevel&extrude effect. Before exporting it to SVG I wanted to turn the new 3D object into a shape but expand appearance created an image instead. What am I doing wrong?

You are using the new 3D and Materials effect, which results in an image (or non native art) after expanding.

Try the classic 3D for vector output.
