Exporting as a DWG changes the layout

Hello! I have Adobe Illustrator 2025 and I am exporting a PDF with a portrait layout as a DWG for Autocad. Opening the file in Autocad, I get a landscape layout. Here is a screengrab as I export the PDF in Illustrator. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you.

@DH45 Under the 'Options,' select a different export option. In the "Options" section of the "DXF/DWG Export Options" window, select "Preserve Appearance" instead of "Maximum Editability." This option prioritizes maintaining the visual layout and scale of the original artboard, which should prevent the layout from changing from portrait to landscape. Before you export, double-check that your artboard in Illustrator is set to the correct dimensions and orientation (portrait). You can do this by going to "File" > "Document Setup" in the Illustrator menu.

Thank you for your response!

I tried this and the Model tab in autocad had a vertical layout. But layout 1 & 2 tabs were both horizontal layout. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you

Hello @daniellehudson,

Could you share a sample AI and DWG file along with screenshots of the export settings used and how the files look in Illustrator and AutoCAD, so I can check this with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anubhav

@Anubhav Mthank you for your response. I am attaching the files you requested here. I tried dropping the dwg file here but I got the message that it is not supported. I tried zipping the dwg file and got the same "this file type is not supported message.  I look forward to hearing how I can fix this issue. Thank you very much
