Exporting out of illustrator troubles

Hello,

I have an AI file with a series of artboards that need exporting for web screen (72ppi). The artboards are all the exact pixles I need for the finished artworks (216x36, 468x60, 200x200, 300x600 etc...) and when I export them (I've tried PNG and JPEG) they are all ending up quite blurry. The artboards all have some images and texts on them but look bad quality once exported. Is there anyway to increase the quality but without increasing the dimensions?

Thank you!

This is for a marketing banner to be viewed on a mobile/smartphone.

If the size is necessary and so is all the text, all you can do is make the text relatively larger.

At that size, aliasing could also cause issues. View your piece in pixel preview in Illustrator and adjust text as best you can so it covers whole pixels.

Hi Doug,

Here is a screen garb of one of the artboards in Illustrator and then the artboard exported. 216x36 is the size. Could it be that it's just too small of a dimension to retain all the detail?

Yes, 36 pixels isn't enough to display that text in a readable manner. If that size is necessary, then you need relatively larger/bolder text. Even then users will be squinting to see it. What is this for?
