Files open as window not tab

Hello, 

Whenever I open an AI file it opens as a window and not a fixed tab, does any of you know how to fix this, so it automatically opens as a tab?

I'm on Mac and using CC 2021, and know i can just drag it to the top of the line in the program and it creates a tab but it's annoying to do everytime.
