Is it possible to mark a gradient as "global"?

No, global is only for solid colors.

you can mark each color of gradient as global. then create the gradient.

How come gradients cannot be marked as global. Wouldnt it help if gradients could also be marked as global?

I agree that it would be helpful to have global gradients.

In the meantime, as a workaround you could select one of the objects that has the gradient you want to change. Then choose Select > Same Fill Color, and edit the gradient.

I have that in mind but its not the same as having a global gradient option, thanks though.

simply the gradient are from different colors for example 2 colors, mark them as global first. why we have to mark this gradient that contains 2 global colors to be global again!!

Because gradients can be customised too, and not just by color changes.

You may define the gradient as a graphic style and apply it to your objects. Graphic styles are always global.

You can then change the gradient of one of the graphic style objects and redefine the style in the flyout menu of the Appearance palette in order to change all objects to which the style is applied in one whack.

Still a workaround, but probably the most convenient one at the moment.
