Hi Guys:
There is a strange problem Im dealing with on Illustrator, where I can't make a clipping/ compound mask for a grouped object.
I tried to unite the object together on pathfinder, tried to expand the appearance of the object, tried clipping and compound mask.
Oddly enough, each separate part from the group works with clipping mask but the group of letters outlined does not.
Any way, that I can fix this problem?
Mask does not work with Group. When you create outline from your type you need to select it and go to Object Compound.
One it is one object (Compound is one object) You can select it and Click on Draw inside or go to : Object Clipping and Make.
If objects are overlapping you can use unite from the Pathfinder panel or use the Shape builder tool to unite.
If the type is not outlined you can mask and the type is editable!

You don't need to ungroup the outline type. Put it on top of the image like this, and select just the grouped outline type.:
Choose Object > Compound Path > Make. The outline type will loose it's fill color.
Select both the outline type and the image, and choose Object > Clipping Mask > Make.

Or you can instead use The Opacity Mask from Transparency Panel.
