Help with Eraser?

Every time - I use eraser, it has this weird auto correct thing? is there a way to get it to stop?Capture.PNG

like here, i'm trying to clean up my colouring but i can't because of the eraser tool...

what do you have selected when you try to erase? if the orange area was created with the blob brush, select that and nothing else before erasing.

Try Object>Expand then select the object. The Eraser Tool should work better.

It probably would be a lot faster to select the entire Drawing and make it into a Live Paint object (object >Live paint > Make. You then just click on an area with the Live Paint Bucket tool and fill it with the color of you choice.

it would help with colouring, but i want i to stop whenever. Like, sketching, lineart, etc.

If you try to use Eraser Tool without selection (or locking) Eraser remowes all part of your artwork

If you select your background fill (without shapes) you can erase only selected paths

I agree with Jeff Witchel - try to use Live Paint method instead your handy work
