How can I see what Illustrator version compatibility an EPS file is saved as?

I am working in Adobe Illustrator CC 24.3 and saving EPS files set to Adobe Illustrator CS6 compatibility.

I need to be able to check EPS files to see saved with this version compatibility.

I don't see this information in Bridge, Finder/File Explorer, Get Info/Properties, etc.

I use both Mac and Windows, so solutions in either will be helpful.

Is there a way?

This is a very crude method but you could open the eps in TextEdit and (edit: with cmd-F) look for »%%Creator:«
