How can I sort objects based on their size

I have a bunch of objects that I want to sort by size. The end result should be liket the picture below just with the objects sorted by size (in 4 groups). I could of course sort them by hand, but there is a lot of objects and many of them are nearly the same size. Might not be a function in illustrator, but surely there must be a script or a plugin?

Thanks in advance

I just downloaded this script but don't seem to get the same output as the image above. What steps did you take? I'm choosing to sort by area, but get a little bit lost when it asks ALONG what I want to sort the objects. Can someone clarify this and how to answer the following questions? thanks
