I am using the Image trace on a photo. I am trying to understand this concept but find it a little difficult to grasp. I placed the picture in Illustrator as directed and followed the steps for Image trace. However all i get are a bunch of paths with No color filled between the lines. I did expand the trace when it completed. Now what am I suppose to do after I expand. Should I use the Live Paint tool to fill in the colors? Need help, please!
After you run the image trace and before you expand make sure that your "View:" in the Control Panel is set to "Tracing Result" and not "Outlines". That should show the image in full color so that when you expand it you will have editable shapes filled with color. Also make sure that you've picked a preset that has color in the Image Trace Panel (found under the Window Menu).
