How do you purge all cache

Engaged ,
Oct 18, 2022 Oct 18, 2022

Im having trouble doing something that I would think is ridiculously easy, but I can't find any  posts regarding purging "cache". Once apon a time I could go to preferences > file handling > Clear Chache.
It's like it was completely removed. My computer is going ridiculously slow when I have Illustrator open. I assume its and excesive amount of RAM thats being used by cache.

So. . . Is there a way to clear/purge all of illustrators cache? With the exception of Settings of coarse. I also use Astute Graphics. I don't want to do anything that might affect that.

What an absolute useless response, and also not it's not even an answer.

Hello @alyz51464347,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I hope the suggestions Monika shared helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, system config (CPU/GPU/Memory), details about your workflow, and a screen recording of the problem (https://adobe.ly/3U70gzu), so we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi Stolas!

I apologize for being so tardy, but Datylon has a solution that involves either Terminal for Mac or CMD for Windows. I'm not an expert in command lines, but here is their link. It helped me a ton! 🙂

Cheers,
