I am wondering why there isn't a "Hide Illustrator (Commnad H)" like there is in Photoshop and inDesign? All one big CC family, why not same basic function keys accross the entire CC Universe?

Thanks for reaching out. In Illustrator, by default, cmd+h is used for show/hide Edges. But you may add a keyboard shortcut to hide Illustrator. Here are the steps:
However, if you use cmd+h for hiding the Illustrator, then the hide/show Edges shortcut will be nulled. So, you may create the shortcuts accordingly.
