Hello,
I am making flat keycap icons for eLearning and need to find a way to create the symbols (rather than text) icons for keys such as mac command and option but in a Windows version of Illustrator CC. I have tried using unicodes but could not get a result; This is probably because all the unicode does is point to a glyph and I don't have the right font so I keep getting a different symbol inserted.
Could anyone tell me how to proceed? Am I right thinking I need to find a font (but which one?) that carries those symbols first? Is there another way?
Thank you for your suggestions.
Best;
Chris

The Apple Symbols font contains those.
Use the Glyphs panel to access them

I see that you are trying that on Windows.
That font is not available there...

Yep, hence the problem.

Weird thing is that there are available unicode settings I have found: just copying and pasting works fine in Office docs, but just plain refuses to paste in Illustrator.

If you can't find such a font, you could always make one yourself using editors like FontForge, Birdfont or the plugin Fontself.
I would search at places like dafont.com (watch out for the copyright)
If they don't have it, ask at myfonts.com

Tried Dafont. Couldn't find anything. Will try MyFonts. Thank you.
