how to get rid of stroke?

I'm a newbie here but for some reason whenever i try to type the stroke is on and the letters wont resize. What do i turn this off?

There are several ways to turn off the stroke. One way would be to select the type with the black Selection tool.

At the bottom of the Tools panel, click the Stroke icon so that it is on top of and overlaps the Fill icon.

Then click the third symbol underneath the stroke and fill icons, the one with a red slash through it. That will remove the stroke from the selected type.

Illustrator remembers the last stroke and fill colors that you used for the type, so the next time you type, Illustrator will
