How to make that effect on font (tooled?)

Hi

I have LTC Goudy Oldstyle Pro font from Adobe fonts

and want to have effect like this?

Is it possible to do this in "easy" way?

Goudy Handtooled has been included in the fonts bundle of some rival graphics applications (Macromedia Freehand, Deneba Canvas and CorelDRAW to name a few). Those "cuts" were made by either URW or Bitstream. Both of those companies were absorbed by Monotype over the years.

I thought Goudy Handtooled was also included in MS Office, but that's wrong. Office just has a couple or so weights of Goudy Old Style.

If time is worth money, it's certainly going to be easier (and more accurate) to just blow the $30 on Bitstream's "Std" version of Goudy Old Style.

I don't know if you'll consider this 'easy', but this is one way you could do it in Illustrator.

Type your text and fill it with black (or whichever fill color you want).

Select the text with the Selection tool.

In the Appearance panel, choose the same fill color you chose before.

In the Appearance panel flyout menu, choose Add New Stroke. Choose a stroke color and weight.

In the Appearance panel, click to highlight the stroke. 

Click the 'fx' button at the bottom of the panel and choose Distort & Transform > Transform.

In the Transform dialog box, drag the Horizontal Move slider to offset the stroke.

To avoid having to repeat these steps, select the text with the Selection tool, and drag it into the Graphic Styles panel to create a new graphic style.

Whenever you want to repeat the style, simply select the text you want to apply the style to with the Selection tool and click on the style in the Graphic Styles panel.

Thank you very much for showing us this.

But …

I personally would not use your workflow. This is because two text objects always have to be edited when changes are made.

Is there a better way? Yes.

Because @barbara_a  has suggested exactly "the same variant" with a much more flexible design. By working in the Appearance palette, you only need a single text object. This is an extremely big advantage when making text changes. In addition, all changes are live and the look can be saved as a graphic style and used again and again.

Could it be any better? Yes.
Use the font/ font style as suggested by @Monika Gause .
