New Here ,
Jan 29, 2020 Jan 29, 2020

Can someone please tell me why when I open a file from illustrator the nav window is organized like this? And how do I fix it? Its listed in groups and there's no date modified.

I have another machine and it's sorted the way I'm used to it. its so much faster to find what i'm looking for.

I highly recommend that you pick up one of the books by David Pogue on your current macOS version. It explains issues like this very well:

(1) Which columns you see can be changed by right-clicking on the heading, you can choose which headings appear:

(2) The grouping you see is a setting in the Finder View menu. In older versions, you choose View > Arrange By. Then you choose from the criteria you want to use for grouping from a submenu (Name, Kind, Application, etc.)

In newer macOS versions, like Catalina which I use, you choose View > Use Groups. Then in the View menu choose Group By to choose the criteria for grouping (Name, Kind, Application, etc.)
