Question

How to resolve "Unable to export at this resolution. Please lower the resolution and try again"

Hi, I have a file that is 2.99 x 2.27m and Illustrator doesn't let me export it on 300dpi, giving me the "unable to export at this resolution" message. I have tried all the possible solutions found online, including making the canvas half the size and it still gives me the same error. I am very very very frustrated and need to get this done to send to print.

Can you please help?

Hello @Beibei5CEC,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika and Doug helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try zooming out of your artboard to check for any stray text/objects and removing them to check if it helps.

If the problem persists, kindly share some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, system config (CPU/GPU/Memory), a sample file (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967531), and a screen recording of the problem (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/screen-record-an-issue-on-windows-amp-macos-for-sharing/td-p/12967727), so we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

I would question if you actually need a 300 PPI raster file that size. Can you use a PDF?

If you actually need a 97,000 px wide file, you could try Photoshop. Illustrator is unlikely to be able to export a file that size.

Send them a PDF. Why is it necessary to export it at 300 ppi?
