I want to keep the extra space around an object

Hello fellow designers,

I am trying to make textures, and I need a transparent background, and this is working, but i need the file to be a specific size, and illustrator just cuts out the rest, which i need. Any help is appreciated.

I don't understand the issue. Please elaborate. A sketch might help.

I want the background to be transparent, and when i export as a png Illustrator crops the image to whatever the red lines would be, and I want to keep the extra space around it, like the second picture, but I need the transparent background

When exporting check the option "Use artboard"
