Illustrator 2022 - Linked PNG's show with yellow background after re-opening file

Hello,

I've recently started experiencing this issue. When placing the PNG and saving the file everything works as desired. When re-opening the file the PNG will show with a bright yellow background and I need to re-link the file (even though it hasn't moved locations) to get it to show properly again before saving it for the client.

Does anyone know why this is suddenly occurring? Example attached.

This is a known issue that Adobe is investigating. Please read this reply from Anshul_Saini  .
