This is hard to explain but Illustrator has been adding in the contents of an old illustrator file when i try to export simple vector svgs.

The new svg exports are stored locally. And it happens with every svg export

Looks like this bug, elements on a document profile appear during export.

Hello @Captivating_face9221,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Our product team is aware of the problem and is currently investigating it. In the meantime would you mind installing an earlier version of Illustrator to check if it helps (https://adobe.ly/3V38kkS)?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

@Captivating_face9221 chances are their likely bits and pieces of that 'an old illustrator file'.

When you creating a new file, do you create a new file, or do you open the old SVG? Because if it's open the old SVG file would be the issue.

If you are creating a new file, with nothing on it, and you export it, then it should export as is. But once you copy and paste elements from an old SVG file, then that could be the issue.

Another way around is, to do a clean install of Illsutrator. I would use the Adobe Cleaner from Adobe themselves, not a third party, https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html remove it all. Then install Illustrator  from your adobe.com account. And see if that takes care of that issue too
