Community Beginner ,
Oct 01, 2025 Oct 01, 2025

My illustrator review links aren't working. When I send them it comes up with a 404 error and if i open them they background is blank it doesn\t show the artwork. I have updated my illustrator and I have also tried creating new links.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your patience. The issues related to Share for Review links not working and missing options for commenting have both been resolved. Kindly try re-opening your links and let us know if it helps.

@ashley__9890 Suddenly all your projects and links.?! I think you may have corrupted Illustrator preferences.

To clear potentially corrupted preferences is to use a keyboard shortcut during the Illustrator launch sequence. This forces the program to reset to a completely clean, factory-default state. Close Illustrator completely. Make sure the application is not running. Re-launch Illustrator while holding down the following keys:

PC: Control Alt Shift

MAC: Command Option Shift

A dialog box should appear asking: "Do you want to clear the preferences file?" Click Yes. Once Illustrator loads with its default settings, try creating a brand new review link for one of your projects. If the new link functions correctly (shows all artboards and is interactive), the problem was indeed corrupted preferences. You may then need to delete and recreate the review links for your old projects to fix them permanently.

Hi There,

I have done what you've said and it is still saying error 404 when I paste the link in chrome. I used to be able to at least see the artwork and others couldn't but now I can't even see it.

Hello @ashley__9890,

Could you try opening the link on a different device to check if it works? Also, share a link to the document here or via DM, so we can check it on our end.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have tried opening on different devices and I have asked others to test and it isn't working for them either.

Here is a link to test:

All my links are doing this now both new and old.

I'm seeing the same thing. It might be a CC issue rather than Illustrator specifically.

This still isn't working for me either, and is currently causing havoc with my clients 😞

I've updated all apps, and even the Mac OS to see if this was the problem. We've tried on my partners Macbook, and she can see the links, but i still get the error on mine - whats going on?!!

After update, I want to check out my artwork using the link after "share a review", but the artwork only show page 1, all other artwork cannot show even I already choose the range (1-8), and worse the page number panel missing!

@ng22206507v2ra page panel? InDesign has a page panel. Illustrator uses Artboards to handle multiple design artboards. To bring the 'artboards' back, you can go to the main menu-Windows

You could even 'reset' your workspace so that it would show the 'Artboards' panel too!

@creative explorer This is about a review link, not artboards in the Illustrator UI.

I just get a 404 error, as a few other topics note today. Seems like something's up with the review system.

I suspect a server issue -- have asked staff and will update when they do.

Hi everyone! I’ve been experiencing an issue with the Share for Review feature—whenever I share a document, it appears transparent. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?

Hi @marco_0628,

Thanks for sharing the details. Could you confirm which version of Illustrator and operating system you're working on? It would also help to know if this happens with every document you share for review or only with certain files. I tested this on version 29.8.1 with Windows 11 and wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. As a quick check, please try sharing a newly created test file to see if the same transparency problem occurs. If you can, a screenshot of the transparency you see would be really helpful as well.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
