Illustrator CC2019 "package files" creates a lot of linked asset's copies!
We just found that every time that we use the "Package Files" feature in Illustrator CC 2019, if for example a Photoshop logo (let say logo.psd) is placed 10x times inside a single Illustrator job, when we "package" the Illustrator for output, the "Links" folder will contain :
Package_folder/Links/logo.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_1.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_2.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_3.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_4.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_5.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_6.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_7.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_8.psd
Package_folder/Links/logo_9.psd
So now let say that the file logo.psd weight 100 MB, the output (package) folder for this Illustrator job is now 1 GB (1000 MB)!! I can obviously delete copies of the linked assets inside the Links folder, but when someone is opening the .AI file from the output (package) folder, the links to assets are now broken!!
Is this a bug or a very nasty feature? How to turn it off? It's very annoying because we have very complex jobs that requires sometime 60x copies of the same linked asset, so could you imagine how BIG the output folders becomes?!
