illustrator clipping mask in dwg

HI
I use Illustrator to create simple isometric views.
I use the clipping mask to highlight parts of the drawing,
If I save in PDF format, no problem, the result is as expected (figure 1).
Unfortunately sometimes I have to export to DWG and in this case the file takes all the paths with it (figure 2).

I need a way to quickly delete all the “cut” paths from the clipping mask.
What do you suggest?

ps: the shape builder tool is'nt fast as I need  😉

Hi @milko259349307s4y,

The best solution I could come up with - and this may not be efficient either, is to first duplicate your file (just in case):

  • expand any strokes
  • release your clipping mask, but with everything still selected, go to Pathfinder > Crop
  • delete any blank lines (from your previous clipping mask) which don't have a color applied. Otherwise, they will show up AND have a black color applied to them once you open the dwg file. To delete them, you can try selecting one blank line and then use Select > Same > Fill & Stroke to single out the remaining blank lines.

Hopefully this helps.
