Hello,
I am using CS6 in Mojave 10.14.4 on an iMac 2015 with 8GB memory and 3.2GHz processor.
It is really frustrating that whenever I am using the text tool my illustrator becomes unbearably slow as it takes longer to type, select, highlight any text and then the mouse starts turning.
It gets up to a point that I want to quit and then the whole of illustrator is starting to freeze or takes 30seconds-longer to respond. I end up force quitting as it freezes for longer than a minute.
Please help as I can't work like this! I have removed the font errors (as suggested by forum discussion regarding the issue for CC2019 but clearly that did not solve my problem).

CS6 is not (fully) compatible with Mojave. Your issue might be caused just by that.
Do you use font management?
Is the dictation feature in Mojave turned off?

Yes, I know. But it is so far only the text tool that I have experienced it with. So maybe there is something that I can do as all other CS6 tools that I have used is not giving me this problem ✊.
I am not sure what you mean exactly by font manager? I just use my font book.
Yes, also checked that dictation is turned off.
Is there anything else that I can try?

Unfortunately, what Monika is saying about CS6 not being compatible is something that you will have to deal with. CS6 is not supported for any Mac OS later than Yosemite (10.10). The fact that it is working at all is something to be grateful for. There is absolutely no guarantee that it will work correctly in any way. Also, as new updates to Mojave come out (and ultimately Apple's next OS) CS6 has less and less chance to work correctly—or at all. If you want to continue using CS6 you should consider getting an older used Mac from eBay with an earlier OS. Otherwise, it is time to get a Creative Cloud subscription and update to the latest version of Illustrator.
Please understand that this situation is squarely one caused by Apple and Microsoft updating their operating systems without any consideration for older software. Your old software will continue to function perfectly as long as you stay with the appropriate OS.

Thank you Bill and Monika!
I also thought that it might be the case. But still hopeful to a possible workable solution.
It is interesting as my photoshop and inDesign still work fine. It is just illustrator so far that is experiencing a big problem.

They are 3 different applications based on 3 different coding foundations.
Even functions that look the same in Illustrator and InDesign use completely different code and have not been copied over.
