Illustrator doesn't find color profile, which are shown in Indesign

Community Beginner ,

Hi everybody,

I installed an eci color profile (pso-coated_v3) on my windows 10 computer (right-mouse-click, then install). In Photoshop CC and Indesign CC everything is fine, so it is installed correctly. But the new profile isn't shown in Illustrator CC.

I reopened Illustrator and also de- and reinstalled it...

Does anybody has got an idea, why the new profile doesn't show in in the color-settings of Illustrator?

Thanks a lot!

Best wishes

Rene

Does it show in Bridge?

Where exactly are you trying to select the profile?

Any chance you can read German?

Then you could try the installing directions given in the Cleverprinting manual available at www.cleverprinting.de (in the downloads section, it's free)

Thank you, Monika.

Yes, I am German (but let us stay in English for all the others).

I try to change the profile as I did in photoshop and in indesign: edit->color settings and then at "working spaces" CMYK....

The menu in bridge looks different. Here I only can choose kind of presets but not single working spaces.

Which cleverprinting document, do you exactly mean?

DANKE 🙂

I was only referring to German because then you can read the "PDF/X und Colormanagement Handbuch". It's available here: http://www.cleverprinting.de/downloads/  (first link)

If the profile shows in the Indesign Color Settings, you can save these Settings in InDesign.

In Bridge you can check the "Show Expanded List of Color Settings Files" option and you should be able to select the save settings and synchronize them across apps (or choose them in Illustrator).

Thank you, I already tried the same in a similar way. I saved the settings in indesign and opened that file in illustrator. The result was, that then then profile "others" was active... And I am not sure, if the right one will be loaded that way...

If after Synchronizing in Bridge your CMYK working space in Illustrator is showing Others as  profile, that does not look good.

I would certainly check if the profile is installed correctly.

Edit: which on Windows should be here:

WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color folder

But how,Ton? And would it work correctly in indesign and photoshop?

The interesting thing is, that it is on two computers, that share one license. On a third computer with anonther license, everything is fine...

On Windows the profile should be here: WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color folder
