Illustrator compatibility with Microsoft Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X Series processors

Dear Adobe,

It's July 29th, and your communications about the Illustrator release for Microsoft Copilot+ PCs are as sparse as a Western ghost town at high noon. We're left squinting at the horizon, hoping to see the Illustrator stagecoach roll in, but all we hear is tumbleweeds.

While software development can be as unpredictable as a quick-draw contest, a smoke signal or two wouldn't hurt. We're not asking for a daily telegraph, but some news would be mighty appreciated.

As I saddle up for vacation, I can't help but wonder: will I return to find Illustrator finally in town, or will I need to mosey on over to Affinity's saloon if this radio silence persists?

Looking forward to some news that isn't as elusive as a mirage in the desert heat!

Hello everyone,

While we don’t have an ETA, I would like to assure you that our team is working diligently on making the release version of Illustrator available for Microsoft Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X Series ARM processors, and more details will be available soon. I will update this thread with any new information. We appreciate your patience.

In the meantime, please continue using Illustrator (beta) (https://creativecloud.adobe.com/campaign/creative-cloud?workflow=route-to-path&route-path=/apps/beta-apps) and share your feedback.

If you are unable to find the Beta tab in Creative Cloud, please try these steps: (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/apps/troubleshoot/known-and-fixed-issues/beta-apps-unavailable-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html).

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Web-based software is not going to replace the capabilities of an installed desktop edition :( Even your own text says, “Not as fast or efficient as native apps”. Half the point of a mobile platform is to be able to work outside my desktop setup WITHOUT INTERNET CONNECTION.

As far as I can tell, Astute Graphics has not made any announcements about adding ARM-based CPU support for the Windows version of their Illustrator plugins. I would suggest contacting their customer support team to see if they have any word on it. If you open the Astute Manager app and click on the “Support” icon on the left end it will show an option to contact them.

The Adobe Illustrator (Beta) version that supports Microsoft Copilot+ PCs (Snapdragon ARM processors) works however my 3rd party Astute Graphics plugins that I pay an annual subscription for are not support. They stated the reason for this is their plugins are only fully tested in release versions of Illustrator.

I know a standard or release version of Illustrator is in the works for Snapdragon ARM processor machines, do we have an ETA? I rely heavily on Astute Graphic plugins for my job.

Hi, its end of July 2025 and still illustrator is only available as beta version. adobe is getting less and less desirable softwares, and we pay so much for it. illustrator is the app that I use the most for what I need.

really bad on adobe.

Hi @ana tota,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community. I totally understand how disappointing it is to get a new Surface Pro 11 and find that Illustrator is only available as a limited Beta version.

Right now, the full version of Illustrator isn't available for Snapdragon X Series devices. Adobe is actively working on it, but there's no confirmed release date yet. You can check these pages for the latest updates: https://adobe.ly/4fec103, Adobe apps compatibility with Microsoft Copilot+ PCs

Since Illustrator is a 64-bit desktop app, it doesn't run natively or via emulation on ARM-based systems. Some users have found workarounds like using remote desktop to run Illustrator from another machine, but I get that it's not ideal.

Let me know if you need help with anything else or have questions.

It's been a year and there's STILL no After Effects or Illustrator for my Snapdragon+ PC. I've been skating by with the beta version of Illustrator, but now even that is no longer available to me. I'm really disappointed in Adobe for being unable to keep up with the progression of PCs. If I buy a new computer I want it to last a few years even as technology advances: apparently, Adobe is completely unprepared for processors to improve and advance. After loosing support for Adobe XD last year, and the terrible experience with this in the past few months, I'm looking into Abobe alternatives; I reccomend everyone else do the same.

Hello @cadiec71023771,

Would you mind sharing more details, like the version of the OS installed and the error message you get when trying to install/launch Illustrator (beta), so I can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
