Illustrator | Masking fills in the Appearance panel

Engaged ,
Mar 04, 2019 Mar 04, 2019

Hi,

I see this question was already asked here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/7738089#7738089 , but I'm asking again because maybe it is now possible...

Is it possible to create a clipping mask on a new fill in the Appearance panel?

Example... From this:
Capture d’écran 2019-03-04 à 11.34.22 AM.png

to this:

Capture d’écran 2019-03-04 à 11.34.50 AM.png

Thank you!

Chris.

Expanding on what Chad said, No, a clipping mask is not an Appearance and that’s not the right panel. In addition to objects, though, you can have a Layer clipping mask.

No, clipping masks must be created with objects.
