While opening Adobe Illustrator, I get the following message:
The Preferences file is corrupt and has been reset to the default settings.
The corrupt file will be backed up as: Adobe Illustrator Prefs.err
I am using Windows 10 and was currently on version 27.1.1
Is there any hope of restoring my preferences from the .err file? How do I even find the location?
Not sure why this happened, but can't seem to find any solutions for later versions of Illustrator. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Steve

Ok I was able to get most of the Preferences Back. I copied the preferences file from a previous version (v26) and pasted it into the v27 location.
Thanks for your help Monika!

Yes I did try that. No luck. Do you know where the Preferences files are stored?

You're welcome!
Glad you could solve it and thank you for the feedback. Although personally I would be careful with preferences copied from a previous version. Illustrator does not always like that, but good that it works for you!
