illustrator problems starting Mac M2 Pro

Community Beginner ,
Nov 05, 2025 Nov 05, 2025

Hellow, for the past months I've been having problems starting illustrator on my M2 Pro Mac Pro.
I've tried to reboot illustrator, restart my computer but it helps for the first time but if I close illustrator and try to reopen it freezes. Takes too much time to initialize.

I must add that I was using the latest version of Illustrator. V30. Just downloaded the V29.0 and still have some trouble and huge delay opening it.  This is the V29.0 but still freezes

Hello @fabio_1170,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind checking for any pending macOS updates and installing them to see if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anubhav

Hi Anubhav,

Indeed there was a MacOS update pending. After last Tahoe 26.1 it works perfectly.

Thanks

Hello @fabio_1170,

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble with this. Could you try running InDesign under a different administrator account (macOS) and after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (macOS) to check if the problem persists?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anubhav
