Inkscape 1.1: A great example of grid management

Inkscape 1.1 has a great grid managment system:

  • Setting are embedded within the file (because each project has its own grid needs),
  • It's accessible on the lateral panel, from there you can set, enable, set visibility and snapping (no menu spelunking like on AI)
  • You can set several grids, (also you can add an axonometric grid)
  • You decide its origin (by origin or alignement on the page)
  • etc.

While on AI for desktop, grid settings are in the general app settings and visibility and snaping are in the view menu.

I made a request on uservoice, please don't hesitate to vote for it.

There are some other requests concerning grid managments (that I also voted for), but I tried to summarize most of the requests, and providing Inkscape's example can help. Feel free to vote for these too!

Fortunately, I had swallowed my mouthful of coffee a moment before I reached "menu spelunking"!

Thanks,
