Inkscape 1.1 has a great grid managment system:
- Setting are embedded within the file (because each project has its own grid needs),
- It's accessible on the lateral panel, from there you can set, enable, set visibility and snapping (no menu spelunking like on AI)
- You can set several grids, (also you can add an axonometric grid)
- You decide its origin (by origin or alignement on the page)
- etc.
While on AI for desktop, grid settings are in the general app settings and visibility and snaping are in the view menu.
I made a request on uservoice, please don't hesitate to vote for it.
There are some other requests concerning grid managments (that I also voted for), but I tried to summarize most of the requests, and providing Inkscape's example can help. Feel free to vote for these too!
