Is it possible to buy Illustrator the same way as I purchased Photoshop many years ago?

Just in case you have the misconceptions about Adobe's subscription model that your post indicates: despite the 'cloud' in the name, the software is downloaded to your computer, and you can save your work to your local computer. You only need to use the 'cloud' to manage your subscription.

Hi, the short answer is no. You can purchase Illustrator by itself as a monthly subscription, or yearly.
