Hi everybody,
What I mean by that question is I'm trying to export the hypothetical word, "CATS". I want smart vector objects to end up in Photoshop as "C", "A", "T", and"S", not as "CATS", but the words is much longer and there's two of them so it'd take me a while to export each single letter.
Is there an option to export these letters as vector objects to Photoshop individually?
Ah! but I figured out the answer. To export a word's characters separately as SVG files you make sure your word is the only one in question and that the only grouped items in the bunch are the letters. Ligatures have to be joined to the letters first or they will be considered separate objects. Then select them all, right-click. the whole word object and in the drop-down menu scroll down to "Collect for Export", then select Multiple Assets. It then provides an Export pop-up window for filetypes

Sweet, thanks for the help. I found that what I needed was the Coolect for Export feature in the right-click dropdown menu. But this is a great watch. If I run into a bulk vector situation I'll definitely review these. Thanks again!

You want to export them as PSD?
Or export them as single pages in a PDF where you can then load them from?
Are those letters single text objects?

Well, I have a title treatment but I want to place a gradient on each letter (in Photoshop). So I want to xeport each character as individual letter objects, not just one word object. Does that make sense?

No, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Please show screenshots. And also: why not add the gradient in Illustrator?

Convert to outlines, ungroup, export selection for each letter...

Right, but it exports it as one CATS object not 4 objects C A T and S. I want to export them separately so I can gradient/fx each letter in Photoshop, not the whole word.
I guess what I'm asking to do is batch export the letters from the word into files. I've got like 20 letters and exporting them every single one at a time is redundant. And I'm going to have more title treatment with more characters.
I'm surprised Adobe doesn't have a feature/function where you can take a word and export the letters to separate files in one batch. Having to print out each letter is again really redundant and time consuming in my industry.

Screengrabs attached. 🙂
Thanks for the repsonse, I'm not sure I would've found it myself without your help.
