Is there an easy way to achieve this effect - stacked lines that conform to the shape of an image?

Wondering if there's an easy way to achieve the attached effect - stacked alternating colors/lines that repeat to form to the shape of an object - that doesn't require drawing each line precisely by hand.

Could the blend tool potentially be of use? I can't quite get it to conform to this exact effect, and seems to work better for straight lines only.

If not, maybe this is the use of applying strokes? I'm not sure how I would alternate colors in that case.

If your blend objects share the same number of points the blend should be uniform. Start by using "Offset Path" effect to get the largest path then edit the points so the blend works as expected. This will allow you to play with color, etc.

If there's a way to make more than one "Offset Path" at a time maybe that's better. It's just a little more tedious to edit, in my opinion.

You could try creating an art brush. First draw a long, thin rectangle, then duplicate it for each desired color. Make sure they stack and snap to point with eachother. Then select all of the colored rectangle shapes and drag and drop to your brushes panel to create an art brush.  Then, you can assign anything you draw to this brush. You may need to tweak the art brush.
