guy-earl,

I borrowed a small flat digital camera, opened the window, zoomed slightly, pressed the button, transferred to the PC, and Illy helped me crop it. Photoshop?

Dreary.

Yesterday, for my lunch break, since it was about 68° f, high wispy clouds, bright sun casting speckled shadows across the pavement through the trees, showers of colorful crisp autumn leaves blowing about, I took a co-worker's 11-year-old grandson for an hour-long motorcycle ride on rural 2-lane backroads, wearing light nylon windbreakers.

You can have the  50% grayscale skies with white stuff on frozen ground.

I really appreciate it, James, although I understand you joy, too. No image?

When the ground freezes, I shall be even happier.

I think dreary is days-on-end cold rain, of which we get too much - that's your 50% grayscale; but 68˚F is when I shed as much clothing as decency permits and I'm still too hot. Happens a few days in July and August. I'm with Jacob — Let it snow!

Cold here, 20 below zero for 1 week in the NW Rockies. Thanksgiving day wild west to southwest winds warming to 40 above this weekend, wild weather this time of year. Maybe get a tractor to plow out the 6' drifts on the driveway in 2011. My trees look the same, at 20 below it hurts to breathe, Happy Holidays to all !

It seems there may be local cooling, at least in the winter, at least some years. Wild weather seems more certain.

Last winter was late and hard, then late hay, and a very late harvest partially drowned in rain after a hot and dry summer.

No one here remembers so much snow in November.

There seems to have been snow in the server from time to time, and then everything was just white. Hopefully, the issue has been solved now.
