Line Segment Tool Issue

Community Beginner ,

Hello All, I'm working in Illustrator (24.1) with Fill set to black with no Stroke and as soon as I draw a line with the Line Segment Tool the Fill and Stroke automatically default to no Fill and no Stroke making the line I just drew essentially invisible. I can manually reset Fill and Stroke but as soon as I draw a line that line defaults to no Fill and no Stroke again.I've never experienced this issue before. So I searched the community posts and tried the suggeston of going into Appearance and deselecting 'New art as bascic appearance' but that didn't solve this issue. I also tried the suggestion of creating a 'custom' Fill and Storke setting and adding it as the defaut setting in 'Libraries' but that didn't solve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can replicate that behaviour, it is the same in older versions.

You can type D to get the default fil and stroke and the Line Segment tool will draw with a black stroke.
