This is a regularly asked question here. In short NO. You can only do this with using actions and it keeps getting forgotten and as far as I know thats all the way up to CS5. If you do have CS5 then you may want to give 'Script Bay' by Harbs a trial. I have already mentioned the shortcuts in a previous thread and it is more likely that it would appear in that before Illustrator… Here is the thread…

not exactly what we all want, but there's a shortcut to "Other Scripts" Ctrl+F12. On the Open dialog point to your "myScripts" folder or any other folder where your scripts are and click on the desired script....and it has good memory, it will remember your folder after Re-starting AI.

or for a 100% keyboard, on windows,

-Ctrl+F12

-Shirt+Tab (to switch focus to the file list)

-hit the first letter of the script's name to highlight it, keep pressing if you have several scripts that start with the same letter.

-press Enter

it might only save 1 or 2 clicks at a time but I rather go this way than File>Scripts>etc

Hi Hari,

I am not sure in Illustrator for the same. But we can do in In Design just installing below link plug and it’s free. I have used in In Design scripts assigning short cuts (like script runs Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N). It’s working pretty well. So we hope Illustrator also have we needed to search …..

Hi Siva,

I have checked the given plug-in. That works with InDesign and InCopy only. Not for Illustrator.

anyway thanks for your reply.
