Lost Closed and Open Arrow Tools and some others as well

Explorer ,
Jul 31, 2023 Jul 31, 2023

I am running on Mac utilizing Illustrator 27.5. I was in a file working and all of a sudden my open and closed arrow tools were missing, my shape tools (rectangle, circle, star, etc) are no longer together. I have tried clearing out my preferences and doesn't change anything. I have gone into the workspace drop down and selected different ones and still can't get those tools back. Please help.

First of all: when was the last time you rebooted the computer?

Then: View > Toolbar < Advanced should give you back the tools.

If that happens repeatedly, you might want to reset the preferences. Which will erase all your settings.

I did figure out to reset my workspace and it brought them back, but there are still some shape tools with the text tools etc. How do I fix that?

So the Advanced option does not bring them back?

Please show a screenshot.

Once more: Did you select View > Toolbars > Advanced? And if not, can you please do that?
