Objects stick to cursor when clicking

Hi,

Everytime I click on a object, it doesn't get selected but sticks to the cursor instead.

This is very ennoying when you expect it to only select the object, not moving it.

Is there a solution for it?

Do you have the Magnet app installed? It's causing that.

This is crazy! You're a hero! I had contacted customer support 4x , and they kept telling me to reinstall macos. And now closed magnet, and everything works. Shoot, this is amazing. Thank you!

I may have found a way to keep Magnet installed but prevent it from interfering with Illustrator.

With Illustrator open, click the Magnet menu bar icon and find the option that says Ignore "Illustrator". After enabling that, I haven't experienced any of that weird sticky object behavior even though Magnet is still running. Hopefully that works for you too.
