Outline (Trace) A Group Of Paths

I brought in and expanded a .psd image of a pair of glasses
How do I now make that just a simple path and fill of the outline of that image
Leaving the hole where the lenses would be
And then get rid of all the paths I no longer need

Then try "Merge" instead. You might have to do some cleaning up afterwards and in your screenshot it's actually difficult to see anything.

If I understand correctly you should be able to just open the pathfinder panel and hit the top left button (Unite)
