Paint blobs - how??

I'm trying to make a logo with paint splatters (brushes, vectors etc, got these) but I need a more 3D looking paint blob or splatter. ANYONE know how??

well depending on the style and level of detail you're after, you might dimply do it with drawn highlights and lowlights

can you show an example of the sort of thing you're trying to achieve?
