I'm working on Mac Studio M1 Max 64GB
When using Illustrator pattern tool the software has an impossible lag. It shows the spinning circle for every small action i'm doing and it goes on for 1-2 minutes. I simply can't make any progress like this.

Any suggestions to resolve this?

You mean you are using the pattern editing mode and the pattern options panel?

Can you please show a screenshot of that pattern?

And also tell us your hardware specifications?

Hi Monika,

Thanks for the quick response!

Yes, i meant the pattern editing mode.

My mac's specifications are:

- Mac Studio M1 Max

- 64GB memory

- 4TB (2TB free)

- OS version: ventura 13.4.1

I'm using the latest Illustrator cloud version available.

Here is a screenshopt of the pattern, it is a very simple one:

Yes that looks like a simple pattern. Unless there is something else to it, which we don't know yet.

The file is saved locally? What else is running on the computer? And can you turn it all off? Best: reboot the computer and then launch only Illustrator.

Hello @michalmicush,

We understand how frustrating it can be to face performance issues in Illustrator, especially when using a modern computer. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika helped resolve the problem. If not, would you mind trying the suggestions shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-illustrator-performance.html) and checking if it helps?

If the issue persists, kindly share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, whether the files are saved on a network/removable drive or a cloud-synced folder (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud Drive, etc.) and if so, does moving the file to a local directory make a difference, a sample file (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967...), and a screen recording of the problem (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/screen-record-an-issue-on-windows-amp-macos-f...), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
