Perhaps a simple script regarding stroke and fill color?

I am not very familiar with scripting, but I was hoping that someone would be able to help me in regards to my dilemma. I am operating CS4 on Windows, and would like to ultimately create a simple command/script to help me speed up my work.  With a lot of work, I am required to draw in a highly contrasted style, and I was wondering if there was a way to create a keyboard shortcut for transforming a object to a .5pt stroke, and a black fill. I frequently use the D key, to create a 1pt stroke with a white fill, and I was wondering if I would be able to add an additional shortcut key (i.e. the "1" key) to create such an effect (.5pt black stroke and fill). Any information or direction would greatly be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Why don't you just create a Graphic Style for each fill/stroke combination you need to repeat?

If you must have a keyboard shortcut by which to apply the Style(s), record an Action that applies a style, and assign a keyboard shortcut to the Action.

If you want to change the default style so that pressing D assigns the fill/stroke Appearances you want, you can edit the Default Style by AltDragging a path that has the desired Appearances and dropping it onto the Default Graphic Style. If you want that to be the Default Style in all new documents, edit the startup files and templates the same way.
