You're welcome—that's what we're here for. 
Turning off the GPU means that some features, such as dynamic zoom, won't work and the screen redraw may take a little longer on complex illustrations using lots of raster effects, but that shouldn't impact on your work too much, hopefully.

Click the rocket icon in the Application bar above, and temporarily disable GPU acceleration, then try opening and closing the document again.
